The Date Plan Challenge →
A great idea from John Ryan at an Acts 29 event. The challenge is to spend as much time planning a date as you would planning a sermon (20 hours or so). I’m gonna do it! I’ll post here how it goes.

Some #Soma201 Application
Today, my first day home from Tacoma after Soma School “201,” I got to apply some of what I learned right off the bat.  Here’s the gist of the lesson we learned: 1. Who God is… 2. determines What God does… 3. which makes us Who we are… 4. which determines What we do. For example (the example I got to use today): 1. God is lovingly wise… 2. So he gave my...

Do not let the sun go down on your anger
A couple of weeks back, I printed up about 15 Bible verses that all contain the phrase “one another,” and taped the print-up on my bathroom wall.  All of the verses are convincing and convicting, but there is one that has really stuck with me, and that’s 2 Corinthians 13:11: Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in...

Organizing a Day of Silence and Solitude with God... →
This template is simply amazing and really really helpful.  My wife tells me I’m nicer and more attentive for days and weeks following each use of this template in an all-day session of Silence and Solitude with God (which I have planned for the first Monday of each month).

Dai Hankey's Blog :: Sanctified Rant →
Dai is a church-planter/evangelist in South Wales.  He’s radical.  He’s passionate.  He raps.  And most of all, it’s clear he’s all about Jesus.

TheResurgence.com →
The first resource that usually comes into many conversations is http://TheResurgence.com It’s huge. It’s deep. It’s usually bite-sized. It’s written well. It’s a bunch of authors and leaders in one place. It’s updated a lot.

Jeff Vanderstelt and some of his Missional Musings →
Jeff Vanderstelt planted Soma Communities, in Tacoma, WA a few years back.  He and Soma have been hugely influential in my understanding of practical missional ecclesiology (church life and structure).  Jeff does not blog a lot, but what he does share on his blog is usually big and very helpful.

Adopted For Life (AMAZING book!) →
Adopted For Life,  by Dr. Russell Moore, has got to be one of the greatest books ever written, seriously.  I cried reading it.  It helped us so much (3 of our kids were adopted) in our own hearts, and in answering awkward infuriating questions like, “Were they all siblings?” and “So is this one your own?” with gospel answers.  Read it. Buy it for someone else. Enjoy it....
